Two men were killed following a shooting at a Bar in St Anns on Saturday 11th November, 2023.
• The deceased were identified as 50-year-old Franz Lavine a security officer of Sandale Avenue, Diego Martin and 44-year-old Hayden Etienne of St Anns Road.
• Around 5:00pm, the victims were liming with a group of persons at 69 Sports Bar and Grill in St Anns, when gunmen emerged from a black Nissan X-trail and opened fire on them.
• The men tried to flee, however; Lavine sustained gunshot injuries and died at the scene, while Etienne was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
• The police were notified and officers from the Homicide Bureau, led by Sgt Seecharan, received information and went to Tilbury Place in East Dry River, Port-of-Spain, where they arrested a 29-year-old man who was believed to be a suspect in the double murder.
This was the second fatal shooting incident that took place in St Anns for the month thus far.
Just on Tuesday 07th November, 2023, 36-year-old Darryl Boucaud also known as ‘Gagga’ of Symond Valley Road, St Ann’s, Port-of-Spain was shot to death outside his home.
This was also the 45th double murder that was recorded for the year thus far and the 3rd for the month of November.
The last double murder took place on Sunday 05th November, 2023, when 29-year-old Nicholas Brizon aka “Nicho” and 28-year-old Israel Hurbert were gunned down by fake police officers in La Gloria Settlement, new Grant, Princes Town.
