A man was gunned down outside the Belmont Police Station, moments after he was released from police custody on Monday 13th November, 2023.

• The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Keston Munroe also known by his alias Bumbles of Calvary Hill, East Dry River, Port-of-Spain.

• Munroe was allegedly detained in connection with a shooting in the Port of Spain Division and was also one of the suspects who was seen stomping on a man’s head outside a fete at the Queens Park Savannah earlier this year.

• At about 6:30pm, Munroe was reportedly outside the police station after just being released from custody, when gunmen pulled up in a Silver Nissan B14 and shot him multiple times.

• The gunmen then re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene.

• Officers who heard the gunshots investigated and took Munroe to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was declared dead shortly after.

• Crime Scene investigators also visited the scene and found 11 rounds of 5.56 ammunition.

• Munroe was reportedly offered a ride home by police officers but declined.

The last murder that took place in the Belmont area was on Sunday 29th October, 2023, when 25-year-old Brandon Forde, 27-year-old Brian Padmore, 31-year-old Kerron Moore and 26-year-old Chivon Clarke were gunned down at the corner of Smart Place and the Belmont Circular Road.
