• The deceased was identified as 34-year-old Kern Perpignac of Gonzles, Port-of-Spain.
• Around 11:00am, Perpignac’s body was found with multiple chopped wounds in a drain along Sogren trace, Gonzales, Belmont, four days after he was reported missing.
• The police were notified and a team of officers from the Besson Street CID and the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I responded and found the lifeless body.
• A DMO was summoned to the scene, viewed the body and ordered it removed from the scene with the help of fire officers.
The last murder that took place in Belmont was on Saturday 06th January, 2024 when 25-year-old Shakell George, was shot and killed along Belle Eau Road.
