The body of a woman was discovered with multiple stab wounds in Manzanilla on Saturday 02nd December, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 57-year-old Rachel Noel of Walke Street, Sangre Grande.
• Around 10:50am, a contractor was reportedly carrying out road works along the Manzanilla Mayaro Road, when he observed Noel’s body on the shoreline.
• He subsequently made a report to the police command centre and a party of officers from the Manzanilla Police Station responded and observed the body with stab wounds to the neck and both hands.
• A district medical officer also visited the scene, viewed the body and ordered its removal to the Sangre Grande Hospital.
• Noel was reportedly last seen alive on Friday 01st December, 2023, when she and her common-law husband Wayne River, left Eiting’s bar on Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande, allegedly arguing over money.
• River went to Sangre Grande police station to report her missing later that day.
A total of 48 females including 5 minors were murdered for the year thus far.
The last female that was murdered is 25-year-old Liliannyis Vera Gonzalez of Saltmine Trace in Siparia who was discovered brutally chopped to death at the side of the roadway in San Fernando on Monday 06th November, 2023.
