One man is dead and five others injured following a shooting in Port of Spain on Saturday 18th November, 2023.

• The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Christian Sansavior of Building 49 Duncan Street, Port of Spain.

• While the injured victims were identified as Anton Olliveire, Mathias Kingsale, Shane Duncan, Robert Inglebert and Jaheim Brown.

Around 7:30pm, the victims were liming along Duncan Street, when a white Nissan X-Trail and a silver Nissan Tiida pulled up alongside them.

• Three men, all armed with high-powered weapons then alighted from both vehicles, all began shooting, hitting all six victims.

• The suspects then re-entered the vehicles and fled the scene.

• Residents observed the victims bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds, and notified the police as well as the emergency health services.

• The injured victims were subsequently conveyed to the Port of Spain General Hospital where they were treated; however, Sansavoir succumbed to his injuries around 7:45pm.

• A team of officers led by ACP Thompson, Insp Price, Sgt Harrypersad, PC Roberts, PC Gill, and PC Lewis, among others, responded.

• Crime scene experts also visited the scene and recovered 55 spent 5.56mm casings as well as a rifle magazine containing 28 live rounds of 5.56mm ammunition.

• While containing the scene, the police received information of a white Nissan X-Trail found abandoned at Clifton Street near St Paul Street.

• A team of officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force, led by PC Charles and PC Chan responded and conveyed the vehicle to the Besson Street police station.

This incident took place within 24 hours after 26-year-old Shawndelle Bernard and 43-year-old Jason Alexander were gunned down while 30-year-old Ryan Corridon and Nigel James were injured following a shooting in St Paul Street, Port-of-Spain on Friday 17th November, 2023.
