Two men were gunned down by fake police officers in New Grant, Princes Town on Sunday 05th November, 2023.
• The deceased were identified as 29-year-old Nicholas Brizon aka “Nicho” of Mc Lean Road, La Gloria Settlement, New Grant and 28-year-old Israel Hurbert of Pleasantville Terrace, Pleasantville.
• Around 6:20pm, two masked men dressed in police gear reportedly went to an apartment on the ground floor of a duplex building at Mc Lean Road, La Gloria Settlement and banged on the door.
• The suspects then barged into the house and shouted, “Nobody move! Lie on the floor, head face down!”, before they shot the victims multiple times about the body.
• The gunmen then fled the scene in a Nissan X-Trail registered PCN 8395 and residents who heard the commotion contacted the police.
• When the officers arrived at the scene, they found Brizon face-down in a pool of blood on the living room floor while Hurbert was lying on a couch bleeding from gunshot wounds.
• The officers went in search of the suspects and later discovered the getaway vehicle abandoned at the community centre in La Gloria Settlement.
• It was subsequently towed to the special evidence recovery unit (SERU) in Cumuto pending further investigation.
This was the 44th double murder that was recorded for the year thus far and the second for the month of November.
Just on Wednesday 01st November, 2023, 25-year-old Stefan Belgrave and 28-year-old Darnell Pierre were gunned down in Jeffers Lane, St James.
