A pensioner was shot dead while three others were injured following a shooting in Morvant on Friday 01st December, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 71-year-old Wendell Stewart of De Nobriga Street, Morvant while the injured victims were identified as 22-year-old Denesha Burginand and 21-year-old Nicholas Yearwood.
• Around 10:00pm, Stewart was reportedly standing on a balcony with another man along Nine Stories in Morvant, when a wagon approached.
• The backseat passenger then fired several shots hitting Stewart several times as well as Burginand and Yearwood who were struck by stray bullets.
• A report was made to the police and emergency health services and the trio were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where Stewart was pronounced dead.
