A man was shot and killed while liming at a friend’s home in Chase Village on Saturday 23rd September, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 58-year-old Dennis Morgan aka “Mamoo” of Church Street, Chase Village.
• Around 8:30pm, Morgan was sitting on a chair in the yard of a female friend along Hosein Drive, Chase Village, when a man approached.
• The suspect then pulled out a firearm and shot Morgan several times about the body, killing him at the scene before fleeing on foot.
• The woman subsequently contacted the police and a team of officers from the Central Division and the Homicide Bureau, responded along with a DMO who viewed the body and made a pronouncement and ordered its removal to the Forensics Science Centre, St James.
• Crime scene investigators also visited the scene and recovered Four spent 9 mm shells.
The last murder that took place in the Chase Village area was on Friday 21st April, 2023, when 64-year-old Ronald Nandlal of Mission Road, Freeport died after he was struck in the head during an altercation with two (2) men over a bad drive in Chase Village.
