46-year-old Wallerfield, Arima man was gunned down outside of KFC at Xtra Plaza in Sangre Grande

A woman shielded her 10-year-old son as they were about to enter a vehicle in which a 46-year-old Wallerfield, Arima man was gunned down outside of KFC at Xtra Plaza in Sangre Grande last evening.

• The deceased has been identified by police as 46-year-old Anderson Cudjoe aka “Andy” of Antigua Road, Wallerfield, Arima and Biche.

• Around 6:00 pm on Thursday 27th October, 2022, the 28-year-old Arima woman, in company with her 10-year-old son and Anderson, went to the KFC outlet near the Eastern Main Road in Turure to purchase a meal.

• The trio exited Anderson’s vehicle, a black Nissan X-trail SUV registration PCT 8491, and entered the establishment to make a purchase. Anderson exited a short time after, leaving the woman and her son to collect their order.

• A short while later, the woman and her son exited with their meal and as they were about to enter the vehicle, a white-coloured car entered the carpark and two men, armed with guns, approached Anderson’s vehicle.

• The woman immediately grabbed her son and slouched to the ground following which several loud explosions were heard before the suspects sped off in their car. The woman and her son ran into KFC and the police were later contacted.

• Anderson, police said, died in the driver’s seat of his vehicle.
