• Around 7:45pm, Gajadhar was liming with two friends along Rice Mill Road, Arouca, when a white Nissan B14 drove up to them.
• An armed man wearing a ski mask emerged from the vehicle and shot at the group, hitting all three victims who attempted to flee.
• While running, Gajadhar fell and the gunman walked up to him and shot him again before getting back in the car and driving off.
• The police were notified and Officers of the North Central Division Task Force responded and took all three men to the Arima Hospital, where Gajadhar died after sustaining approximately 12 gunshot wounds.
• Officers of the Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) also visited the scene and found 15 spent 9 mm shells, 19 spent 5.56 shells and two live rounds of 5.56 ammunition.
• Region II Homicide investigators are continuing enquiries.
The last murder that took place in the Arouca area was on Thursday 14th December, 2023, when 31-year-old Hameed Jack also known as “Blackie” was shot and killed along Emperor Boulevard.
This was also the second shooting incident that took place in Arouca over the weekend.
Just on Friday 02nd February, 2024, a man identified as Brandon Pahal was shot and wounded along Ramoutar Street, Garden Village in Arouca.
