A 54-year-old man was gunned down at his home during a home invasion in Penal, early on Monday 27th March, 2023.
• The deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Narine Singh aka Jankie a labourer of Charlo Village, Penal.
• Around 12:05am, Singh and his 58-year-old wife were asleep in their downstairs apartment when they were awakened by a strange noise.
• Singh got up and went to investigate and moments later, several loud explosions were heard.
• Singh’s wife made checks and found him lying in a pool of blood, suffering from multiple gunshot injuries about the body.
• Neighbors who heard the loud explosions notified the police and Crime scene investigators visited the scene and recovered six 9mm spent shells and a projectile.
• Singh was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.
