Two separate murders occurred at St. John’s Road in St. Augustine back-to-back on Friday 25th November 2022.
• 31-year-old Keron Ellis was shot and killed inside his mother’s parlor at St. John’s Road in St. Augustine around 9pm on Friday night as the 65-year-old mother and her son were closing Erieen’s minimart.
• A police report on the incident states that two armed men, dressed in camouflage jackets with masks over their faces, entered the minimart and fired several shots at Ellis, killing him at the scene.
• Crime scene investigators recovered 17 spent 9mm shell casings and 12 spent 40 cal spent shell casings at the scene.
Hours earlier around 1:30pm on Friday, 28-year-old Joel Garcia was killed and two others wounded in a shooting in the same area.
