Two men were shot and wounded at Bamboo Trace in Tunapuna Monday 26th December 2022.
• The victims are 30-year-old Jermell Halls of Upper Fairley Street, Tunapuna (stable), and 40-year-old Romel Mohan of Bamboo Trace, Tunapuna.
• Around 8:50 pm on, PC Ramsubbhag and PC Persad of the Northern Division Task Force responded to a report of loud explosions at Bamboo Trace, Tunapuna.
• Upon arrival, they observed Halls lying at the side of the roadway with gunshot injuries about the body. He was placed in the police vehicle, with the assistance of villagers, and taken to the Mt. Hope Hospital for medical treatment.
• Mohan was also found a short distance away and he too was taken to the hospital by police.
• Police said around 8:40 pm, Halls was standing outside a friend’s home at the corner of Bamboo Trace and Romeo Drive, Tunapuna when a man, known to him as Antonio, approached and fired several shots at him.
• Mohan was hit in the buttocks by a stray bullet as he was leaving a friend’s home around the same time of the shooting at Bamboo Trace and Romeo Drive Tunapuna.
• Halls was shot four (4) times in the chest, mid back, lower back, and buttock and is listed in stable condition. Crime Scene Investigators recovered 10 spent 9mm shell casings at the scene.
