Two men were killed and a third injured during a gang-related shooting incident in the car park between Buildings 6 and 7 in Maloney Gardens D’Abadie on Sunday 1st January, 2023.
• The deceased are 27-year-old Christopher Williams aka ‘One foot’ of Building #6 Maloney Gardens, D’abadie; and a man only identified as Ezekiel, also of Building (6) Maloney, Gardens.
• The third victim is 30-year-old Denzel Cummings aka “Shorto” of Building #7, sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm and a laceration to his forehead. He was taken to the Arima District Hospital by one of his friends where he was treated.
• According to police around 9:00 pm Christopher, Ezekiel, and Denzel were liming on the eastern side of the car park, which was poorly lit, when a vehicle drove into the carpark and several men all armed with firearms alighted and opened fire on them.
• The assailants then re-entered the vehicle and sped off, in an unknown direction. Officers of the Northern Division Task Force responded and observed Christopher and Ezekiel not too far from each other with gunshot injuries about the body.
• They were declared dead at the scene. The scene was processed by officers of the Special Evidentiary Recovery Unit where (29) 9mm and 5.56 shell casings were recovered.
• Snr. Supt Francis and Insp Jugmohan, PC Salina and Winter of the Northern Division along with Ag W/Sgt Davis, PC Mc Queen, WPC Mohammed, and PC Jaghoo of the Region 2 Homicide Bureau of Investigations, were among the officers who visited the scene.
• Ag Cpl Rahim of the HBI is probing the incident which has been classified as gang-related.
