Two men were gunned down outside a bar next to the Cunupia Police Station early on Saturday 28th January, 2023.
• The deceased has been identified as Skakeal Ferdinand of Kernahan Road, Chin Chin Cunupia and Shaeed Jaboolal. Jerningham Road.
• Two women, who were liming outside the bar, were also injured when a gunman opened fire on the two victims killing one at the scene.
• Around 1:05 am PC Rampersad and PC Bisnath were on duty at the Cunupia Police Station when they several loud explosions outside the station.
• The officers later received information and walked to the nearby Roxbury Bar along the Southern Main Road Cunupia, approximately 150 feet away from the Cunupia Police Station, where they observed a crowd of persons gathered in front of the bar.
• Officers further observed Ferdinand lying face down, motionless, unresponsive, and in a pool of blood with apparent gunshot wounds about the body.
• Jaboolal was also discovered lying on his back and responsive but suffering from gunshot wounds about the body. He was placed in a white Nissan Tiida and taken to Chaguanas Health where he was declared dead around 1:18 am.
• The scene was processed and photographed by Homicide Crime Scene Investigators PC Mohammed and WPC Gilkes and thirteen (13) 9mm spent casings were found and seized.
