Two men were arrested in connection with the materials belonging to the ministry of works and transport that was reported stolen and were recovered by police officers
• The million-dollar materials, which consist of 60 electrical steel pipes, two excavator buckets, one 18-inch one-way valve pipe and six pieces of overhanging beams, were discovered by police in a scrap yard at the corner of Ramlal Tr. Ext. and the Uriah Butler Highway in Chaguanas.
• President of the scrap iron association, Allan Ferguson, in response to the theft, said the scrap yard where the stolen items were found was run by foreigners and had just recently joined the association and as a consequence, he was expelled from the association.
