Two men, one of them a Venezuelan national, were found chopped to death off Rivulet Road in Couva at a piece of agricultural land on Monday 5TH December, 2022.
• According to a police report, around 7am Central Division officers responded to a report about two bodies being discovered at an agricultural parcel of land.
• PC Perera and other officers went to Rivulet Road about approximately 50feet off the roadway, where they observed the bodies of two men of mixed decent.
• Both victims, who are suspect to be Venezuelan nationals, had a single chop wound to the neck.
• The police report added that around 6.30am several farmers went to attend to their crops when they stumbled upon the bodies of the two men, one of them identified as Darrin James, of Market Street, Chaguanas, who had a T&T Driver’s Permit and a Venezuelan ID card in his pants pockets.
• The bodies were examined by the District Medical Officer and subsequently taken to the Forensic Sciences Centre in St. James for autopsies.
