Two female employees at Massy’s St. Augustine Supermarket sustained burns about their bodies after a stove, which had been giving problems, reportedly exploded in the kitchen just over a month ago.
• One of the victims, we understand, sustained third-degree burns about the body including her face and remains on extended sick leave and is unable to walk on her own.
• The other female employee did not sustain extensive injuries.
• We understand that the employees had previously complained that the stove in the kitchen had been giving problems with light. The stove was replaced with a new stove one day after the minor explosion in the kitchen.
