Two excavators worth millions of dollars, were reportedly firebombed at a job site in St Thomas Street, Aroura on Monday 12th December 2022.

• The incident occurred at the site of a project of the Ministry of Works and Transport, which is being undertaken by contractor Kallco Limited.

• Reportedly, a new bridge is being built and the existing river is being widened at the site.

• According to police, several men were seen at the site early in the morning with canisters of gasoline, which they poured onto two excavators that were set ablaze.

• Officers of the Tunapuna and Arima fire stations responded to the report and were able to extinguish the fire.

• Arouca detectives are probing the incident which has been labelled as an act of sabotage.
