Three (3) double murders took place over the weekend which now brings the total double murder toll to (27) for the year thus far.
Two (2) men were gunned down while liming at a house in Tunapuna on Saturday 10th June, 2023.
• The deceased were identified as 24-year-old Quincy Gopaul of St. Thomas Street, Tunapuna and 24-year-old Isaiah Esom of Taylor Street, Tunapuna and Four Roads, Diego Martin.
• Around 8:50pm, both men were at a house on Thomas Street, when a black Nissan X-Trail approached.
• Two masked men, armed with guns emerged from the vehicle, walked into the house and fired several shots at the duo before re-entering their vehicle and fled the scene.
• A relative heard the series of gunshots and went to investigate, when they found both men lying on the ground, bleeding from gunshot injuries.
• The relative contacted the police and officers of the Tunapuna police station responded and pronounced the duo dead.
• Crime scene investigators also visited the scene and found six spent .308 shells and six spent 9 mm shells.
