Three men were shot and killed in the yard of a house along Hassarath Road in Cunupia on Saturday 28th January, 2023.
• The dead men have been identified as 34-year-old Kirvan Ramjattan of Dindial Street, Cunupia; 37-year-old Shawn Thomas of Boodoo Avenue, Maturita, Arima; and 20-year-old Jevon Ince of Jerningham Junction Road, Cunupia.
• Thomas and Ramjattan died at the scene of the shooting while Ince succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at the Mt. Hope Hospital.
• Ramjattan was an electrician, Thomas a roof man, and Ince, a labourer. They were ambushed by unknown assailants who entered the premises from the back and opened fire on them around 7:48 pm.
• PC Archibar and PC Mohammed of Central Division Task Force while on mobile patrol responded to a report about a shooting and upon their arrival, they found Thomas and Ramjattan with gunshot injuries about their bodies lying next to each other. Officers were told that Ince was taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility for medical treatment.
• Crime Scene Investigators later found and seized 5 spent 5.56 and one live round of 5.56 ammunition and 8 spent 9mm shell casings at the scene.
