There was a shootout between police and bandits following a robbery at the Chase Village gas station on Saturday 17th December, 2022.
• Shortly after 10pm, officers of the central division task force responded to a report of an armed robbery at the chase village gas station.
• Upon arrival, officers observed two men of African descent, one of them armed with a firearm, running out from the business place.
• Reportedly, the armed suspect, saw the marked police vehicle approaching, opened fire on the vehicle, which resulted in pc Wilson returning fire.
• The suspects ran along Robert Street where they managed to escape.
• A quantity of stolen cash, cigarettes and a Ruger 9mm pistol were recovered at the scene by police near the gas station’s entrance.
