The two security guards shot dead during a daring daylight heist as they left Pennywise Plaza in La Romain on Monday 19th September, 2022, have been identified as 51-year-old Jeffery Andy Peters of Laventille and 49-year-old Jerry Winston Stuart of London Street, Longdenville.
• Both deceased were employed with Allied Security Services located at the corner of Maraj Street and Longdenville Main Road.
• Another officer, identified as 57-year-old Peola Baptiste, was also shot by five (5) heavily armed bandits. She remains in critical condition at the Mt. Hope Hospital and is in need of o-positive blood.
• A security guard, identified as 47-year-old Allister Harris, who is employed with Phoenix Protective Services, was also shot and wounded by the suspects while on duty near the gate at the pennywise plaza.
• A 9-year-old boy was also shot and wounded during the shooting and taken to hospital for medical treatment.
• Shortly after 5pm, five (5) men emerged from a white Nissan Sylphy just as the officers, who were in a white pickup were leaving the compound, and opened fire on the officers.
• The suspects snatched several bags they thought contained large sums of cash before fleeing the scene.
• Police responded and officers went in search of the suspects while others preserved the scene and took the other three injured officers to the hospital where one subsequently died.
