THE Tobago House of Assembly has appointed a new Deputy Chief Secretary days after Watson Duke tendered his resignation from the party after a fallout with members of the Farley Augustine-led administration.
• Dr. Faith B Yisrael was appointed to the post and will retain the portfolio as Secretary for Health Wellness and Social Protection.
• A special sitting of the T.H.A took place at the Shaw Park Cultural Complex in Tobago.
Chief Secretary Farley Augustine denied he has approached the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) in an attempt to register his own political party. He also denied the corruption allegations made against him by his former Deputy, Watson Duke adding that he has already commenced legal action against his former political ally.
• According to Augustine, he doesn’t intend to spend much time defending such allegations and he has already instructed his attorneys to take Duke to court over the false, misleading and defamatory statements.
