The semi-nude body of a woman was found lying face down in a ravine in Carenage on Saturday 22nd July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Leann Slater of Carenage.
• Around 7:20am, a resident of L’Anse Mitan Road, was asleep at her home when she allegedly heard strange noises outside.
• Upon investigating, she reportedly discovered Slater’s semi-nude body in a puddle of water.
• She immediately made a report to the police who responded and summoned a DMO who ordered the victim’s body be removed and taken to the Forensic Science Centre pending a post-mortem.
• Unconfirmed reports are that Slater was sexually assaulted before she was murdered.
