The owner of Saint Rose Funeral pledged to do the funeral service of murdered 14-year-old Marlon Stewart, free of charge.
After hearing the family’s financial woes, via Ian Alleyne’s Crime Watch show, Saint Rose said he will conduct the child’s funeral without any cost to the family, as soon as the body is released from the Forensic Sciences Centre St. James.
Marlon’s grandmother, Lilyann Stewart, told Ian Alleyne about her family’s struggles, adding that after sitting the SEA this year, he passed for the Morvant/Laventille Secondary School but was unable to attend classes thus far because she did not have the finances to purchase his school books and uniforms.
Her family struggled to make ends meet but according to Lilyann, she was hoping to send him out to school from the new school term in January.
Ian also promised to take care of a $3,000+ light bill incurred by the family who has been unable to pay their bill. He also promised to send items so they can have a proper wake in honour of Marlon.
Ian spoke live on national television with Lilyann over the telephone during his show on Friday 25th November, 2022.
