The owner of a pharmacy was gunned down during a botched robbery at his business place in Aranguez on Tuesday 18th April, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 43-year-old Cheval Ramjattan the owner of Pills and Potions Pharmacy at Henry Street, Aranguez.
• At around 9.15pm, Ramjattan closed his business place and was sitting in his vehicle with his wife, when a gunman approached and fired multiple shots before making his escape.
• Ramjattan’s wife who was seated in the front passenger seat was not hit, however, he sustained gunshot injuries to the upper body.
• Ramjattan attempted to drive to Mt Hope hospital, when he slumped over the steering wheel near the Aranguez overpass.
• He was then taken to hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead on arrival
