The Nissan Sylphy the suspects used was later found burning off the M2 Ring Road near the Military base in La Romain by police and a soldier later turned up at the station claiming he was relieved of his vehicle.
• Officers said a man, identified as a TTDF soldier, later reported he was held up and robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint by the suspects but they believe he was actually involved in the robbery and gave his vehicle to the men at a prearranged meeting point.
• That vehicle was chased by police with 6 armed suspects inside but the men abandoned their car and 4 fled together while 2 others fled in nearby bushes.
• The suspects were later pursued and cornered at the bottom of a home at Jones Street off Windsor Street, Pond Street, La Romain, where they were killed by police officers.
