The killings on Saturday first started with a double murder along Ariapita Avenue in Woodbrook during the early hours, where persons were liming on Carnival Saturday.
• One of the deceased was been identified as Atiba Rodriguez and Jessie James both of Romain Lands in Morvant. James and Rodriguez died at the scene of the shooting.
• Around 4:25 am on Saturday 18th February 2023, PC Dowell and PC Ali of the Woodbrook Police Station responded to loud explosions on Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook.
• Upon arrival at the scene, they observed two men of African descent lying motionless on the pavement near Club 63.
• 37-year-old Tessa French, a British national, visiting T&T for Carnival, was also shot in the right calf and was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital for medical treatment.
• Sgt. Mohammed and officers from the Region 1 Homicide Bureau of Investigations visited the scene and started investigations along with ACP Collis Hazel, Snr Supt Rishi Singh of the HBI, Ag ASP Lal and other officers from the Port of Spain Division.
