The country has recorded its 30th double murder after two men were gunned down in Samaroo Village, Arima on Thursday 13th July, 2023.
• The deceased were identified as 38-year-old Reuben Jesse Jones aka “Beaver” and Rawson Arcia aka “Boyo” from Troumacque, Laventille.
• Around 10:20pm, residents of Mendez Trace in Samaroo Village, Arima, heard a series of loud explosions.
• Upon investigating, they discovered both men lying on the ground, bleeding from gunshot injuries to their heads and upper.
• They subsequently contacted the police and a team of officers led by Sgt Naitram, Cpl Bushel, and Cpl Foster, responded and are continuing inquiries.
The last double murder took place on Wednesday 28th June, 2023, when 30-year-old Kevon Andrews, known by his alias “Faces”, and his friend Kristian Lindsay, also known as “Ming” were gunned down in Orchid Gardens, Pleasantville.
This was also the 4th murder that occurred in the Arima area for the month of July, thus far.
On Monday 10th July, 2023: a man identified as Nigel Alleyne was gunned down at Gaston Ruiz Street off Temple Street, Arima.
On Wednesday 5th July, 2023: 24-year-old Akeil Charles of Sangre Grande was shot and killed along Race Course Road in Carapo, Arima.
