The Chief Education Officer Dr. Peter Smith said that there has been an escalation in school violence during the last school term and identified 17 schools as “troubled schools”.
• During a press conference earlier today, Dr. Smith said that with the reopening of the new school term on Monday 5th September, there will continue to be a police presence in and around certain secondary schools.
