The charred remains of a woman were found in an outhouse in Maraval on Thursday 27th July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 20-year-old Anastacia Waldron of Clovis Trace, Morne Coco Road, Maraval, who was an employee at KFC in Maraval.
• Around 3:45 p.m., officers received a report that Waldron was missing.
• When they arrived at the location, they observed an outhouse 10 feet from the victim’s home with smoke emanating from it.
• Upon investigating, they discovered Waldron’s burnt remains.
• The officers summoned the District Medical Officer who visited the scene and ordered the removal of the remains to the Forensic Science Centre, St James.
• Waldron was reportedly last seen on Monday 24th July, 2023, when she left for work.
Waldron was the 29th female including a 6-year-old girl to be murdered in the year thus far.
The last female that was killed was 35-year-old Leann Slater of whose semi-nude body was found lying face down in a ravine in Carenage on Saturday 22nd July, 2023.
This was also the second murder that took place in the Maraval area for the month of July thus far.
On Saturday 08th July, 2023 a man identified as Tevin Morrison aka “Piggy was shot dead along Saddle Road in Maraval.
