The Chairman of the Commission of Enquiry into the Paria diving tragedy dismissed a request from Paria Fuel Trading Company Limited to bar relatives of the four victims from testifying at the commission.
• Counsel for Paria, Senior Counsel Gilbert Peterson, in his submission earlier today, said if the Commission was to allow such, it would be out of the scope of its remit.
• However, King’s Counsel, Jerome Lynch the Chairman of the Enquiry later ruled that the family members of three of the deceased men can testify before the Commission.
