• Rudranath Indarsingh, the Couva South MP visited the area and said the bridge has officially collapsed, leaving residents of Springvale, Claxton Bay, Mt. Pleasant Road, Carolina Trace Nos. 1&2, Forres Park, Milton, Lower Carolina and other communities heavily affected and even marooned.
• MP Indarsingh, added that he wrote countless letters over the past several months begging the ministry of local government to repair the bridge as it is used as the main route.
• He is now calling for the urgent installation of a bailey bridge while the construction of a permanent structure is arranged.
