Around 9:50pm on Friday 17th June, 2022, the boy was at his Ali Jhan Trace, Piarco Old Road, D’Abadie, Arima, when several loud explosions were heard.
The boy’s father heard him crying and rushed to his bedroom where it was discovered the child had been shot in the thigh.
He was rushed to the Arima District Hospital where he was treated and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt. Hope for additional treatment.
Investigations are continuing into the incident.
