Stolen from Arima but found in Freeport at a Used Car Dealer and a businessman is taken into custody.
Between 2:30pm and 5:55pm, officers of the Stolen Vehicles Unit conducted an exercise at a used car dealer at Singh Drive, Calcutta #3 in Freeport, where they found and seized a vehicle that was reported stolen in Arima late last month, bearing a false license plate.
Police said while executing a search warrant, officers observed a silver Toyota Axio motor car Reg. No. PDX 1742 on the compound. Checks revealed the license plate actually belonged to a blue Nissan Note Reg. No. PDT 1472 which was stolen from Arima.
The suspect was arrested and the car impounded. PC Singh of the Arima CID is continuing investigations into the stolen vehicle.
The exercise was incident free and involved Insp. Lazarus, Sgt. Brebnor, PCs Edgar, and Hoyte of the SVU.
