“Shalini confessed that she did what she did with the syringe on the baby… She said that she gave the child a corkful of malathion which is a heartless thing to do as a mother.”
• 30-year-old Shalini Ramsaroop was subsequently taken into custody at the Princes Town District Health Facility by police officers in connection with the murder of her 9two-month-old daughter.
• The incident happened around 12:20pm at the family’s Unis Road, Busy Corner, New Grant home.
• Her baby was later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital where she died around 6:30pm.
