St. Joseph and homicide detectives are probing an incident in which a man identified as “manicou”, was stabbed to death when he and two women allegedly attempted to rob a shop owner with a hammer yesterday morning.

• According to police 34-year-old Ronald Gobin reported that around 10am yesterday, he was at his parlor, “the blue shop on the corner” when a white Honda motorcar registration PDS 2460 pulled up.

• Gobin further reported that 36-year-old dyke Skeete aka manicou, whom he knows, emerged from the vehicle with a hammer, along with two females, and announced a robbery.

• Gobin said he armed himself with a knife and there was a struggle between Skeete, one of the females and himself, following which he stabbed Skeete several times about the body.

• Skeete was taken to the nearby mt. Hope hospital by the females but he died around 11am while being treated.

• Officers of the northern division responded to a report and took Gobin, who had injuries to the back of the head, to the hospital for treatment.
