• A nurse at the St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital in St. Ann’s came under stack when his leg was severed and broken by a patient at the facility during the early hours on Saturday 24th September, 2022.
• Staff at the facility are fearful after the attack which happened around 2:30am at Ward 8 of the facility.
• The injured male nurse was treated and taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was treated and remains warded in stable condition.
• A report on the incident has been made to the police and officers of the Belmont Police Station’s CID are probing the incident.
