A shooting at Lady Young Road in Morvant, left two (2) men dead on Friday 17th March, 2023.
• The deceased men were identified as Akiel Rodriguez aka “Germs” of Romain Lands, St. Francois Valley Road, Morvant and Christopher Fitzroy Towne of Mon Repos Road in Morvant.
• Around 9:15pm, Officers received a report of a shooting near the walkover at Lady Young Road in Morvant.
• Upon arrival, they discovered a group of people surrounding two men on opposite sides of the roadway nursing gunshot injuries.
• Rodriguez died at the scene of the shooting
while Towne who showed signs of life was taken to the Mt Hope hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
• The DMO, Dr Ojar visited the scene and ordered Rodriguez’s body removed pending an autopsy at the Forensic Sciences Centre in St. James.
