Republic Bank employees are furious

Republic Bank employees are furious after the company’s management decided to discontinue “deep cleansing” if a covid-19 case is detected at any of the banking institutions among other covid-19 standard operating procedures.

In an internal letter on Tuesday 19th July, 2022, addressed to Managers, the Bank’s General Manager of Human Resources Riah Dass-Mungal announced a scale back on measures in place to mitigate the spread of the virus within the precincts of the bank.

With effect from last Tuesday, the bank will not replace and/or repair any damaged and/or inoperable sinks used for hand washing, sanitizing stations and temperature check devices.

However, staff members believe the bank’s actions are premature as the country and the world is still in a pandemic, ultimately putting their health at risk.
