PRISONS ON ALERT FOR POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE
The Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service has noted the updates issued by the Office of Disaster and Preparedness Management relative to the Potential Tropical Cyclone and continues to do so.
As such, in keeping with policies relative to natural disasters, we must inform that all established protocols have been engaged to monitor and take the necessary action to preserve life.
Whilst visits the nation’s prisons remain on-going, we must advise that accommodation for same will cease at 2.30pm for the remainder of this week only. Additionally, we are encouraging persons to be mindful of the weather alerts currently in effect if wishing to schedule a visit.
Commissioner of Prisons (Ag), Mr. Deopersad Ramoutar wishes to assure relatives and friends of both staff and charges that all measures will be utilized to ensure safety and security during this time at all Prison institutions.
The Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service continues to place emphasis on safety and security as part of the ongoing commitment to upholding its mandate.
