Princes Town MP Barry Padarath said the public consultations of the proposed hike in electricity rates by the Regulated Industries commission is a “pappy show” since the proposed increase has already been decided upon by the Government.
• Speaking at the UNC’s Monday Night Report at the Endeavour Hindu School, Padarath said even though Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales said Cabinet is expected to get the RIC’s Report on the proposed increase by April, and a decision will then be made, such was already a done deal.
• He called on the RIC to host public consultations throughout the length and breadth of the county and not selected urban areas.
