An investigation has been launched after a patient was turned away from the health facility resulting in the death of her twin babies.
Pearly Graham, the 38-year-old mother of four reported that after getting labour pains, she went to the Princes Town Health Facility where she was mistreated by the doctor and staff there who also refused to give her access to the ambulance.
Her husband drove her to the San Fernando General Hospital where she delivered the babies but they died shortly after. The death has been ruled as a miscarriage and no death certificate will be produced.
The doctors and staff in question have since been put on administrative leave with basic pay.
