Police were involved in a shooting incident with 4 men who were part of a home invasion in Mayaro where they stole a vehicle and went on a robbery spree in South Trinidad late on Tuesday 9th August.
• However, responding officers were able to corner the suspects in their stolen Toyota corolla motor car along Realize Junction Road in Princes Town.
• Upon spotting the marked police vehicle, the driver attempted to reverse but another vehicle came from the opposite direction causing him to crash the car on a wall along the roadway
• The suspects got out and shots were fired and at least two of them were shot and taken to hospital. Two of the other suspects were told, to manage to escape but a gun and ammunition were found at the scene by police
