Police are probing a new trend where criminals are deliberately bouncing their victim’s vehicles in order to get them to stop before robbing them.

Police are probing a new trend where criminals are deliberately bouncing their victim’s vehicles in order to get them to stop before robbing them.

• There have been two similar robberies in Tunapuna, one on Monday afternoon and the other on Tuesday night.

• According to police, around 11:20pm, the owner of Twin Pharmacy, was in her vehicle along with two employees on their way home when her Nissan Latio vehicle, registration #PDS 4213, was hit from behind by a Nissan Tiida motorcar.

• The woman drove a short distance away and stopped. As one of the occupants of the car emerged, two men, armed with guns approached and announced a robbery.

• The suspects proceeded to rob the driver of the car of her handbag which contained her cell phone, $5,000 cash and other personal items.

• She was ordered out of the vehicle and the suspect drove off with the car which contained close to $40,000 in cash which represented sales from the pharmacy. The incident happened along the Eastern Main Road, Tunapuna near St. Mary’s Bridge.
