Paria’s Terminal Manager, Colin Piper’s statement versus what the Coast Guard said, became the issue of content in Monday’s Commission of Enquiry proceedings.
• Lieutenant Commander Michael Maharaj at the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard, in taking the stand said, the record that was given by Piper is the opposite of what he ever said, as his mission always remained a matter of rescue, versus recovery.
• Maharaj also added that he did not indicate to Piper that the divers in the pipeline were not alive.
