On the issue of the Licensing of Children’s Homes, Padarath said the Government has failed to meet its own deadline for such which is on March 31st 2023, which would leave the accommodation of hundreds of children in limbo.
• He said former Attorney General Faris Al Rawi told the country that all Children’s Homes must be licensed following the publication of the Judith Jones Report.
• In June 2022, Senator Paula Gopee-Scoon, speaking in the Senate, said by March 31st 2023, all Children’s homes should be registered and will not be closed
