One man was shot and injured while another was arrested after they robbed flourishing supermarket at Grell Street in Siparia, on Friday 02nd September, 2022.
• The suspects entered the supermarket and pretended to be shoppers before they announced a robbery.
• After they robbed the cashier and was proceeding to flee the scene, a plain-clothed security guard challenged the men and shot the assailant who had a firearm, causing him to collapse.
• The shooting happened just outside the Siparia District Health Facility where the suspect was treated and transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.
• The other suspect, who is from Cocorite was taken into custody at the Siparia police station and a rusty shotgun was seized at the scene of the incident.
