One bandit gets bullets, the other arrested and a rusty shotgun seized following a robbery at a supermarket in Siparia on Friday 2nd September, 2022.
• The shot suspect is from Siparia while his accomplice, who is from Cocorite, remains in custody at the Siparia Police Station.
• Two men entered Flourishing Supermarket and one pretended he was a shopper with a basket in his hands. They then proceeded to rob the cashier but were intercepted as they were about to flee.
• A security guard in plain clothes challenged the men and shot the gunman who collapsed outside the business at Grell Street.
• The shot robber was taken to the Siparia District Health Facility located right next to the supermarket where he was treated and later transferred, under police guard, to the San Fernando General Hospital.
• The supermarket had been robbed multiple times in the past but little did the robbers knew there was an armed security guard on duty at the supermarket.
